Phentermine and Bontril, which is also known as Phendimetrazine, are a couple of the most popular prescription weight loss pills that are available on the market today. They work by suppressing your appetite so that you will eat less throughout the day and shed those excess pounds with greater ease.

Some people who have tried both of these options have found that one works better than the other in terms of appetite suppression or energy boosting. Generally, however, they are both considered effective when taken as directed, but they can cause unwanted side effects, as is the case with any other prescription.

Can You Take Bontril and Phentermine Together?

Experts do not recommend using Phentermine and Bontril together at the same time. That is because the combination of these two prescriptions might boost your odds of developing serious cardiovascular problems. You might even end up experiencing symptoms like chest tightness, chest pain, shortness of breath, lightheadedness, dizziness, swelling of the feet, ankles, or legs, and fainting.

This is why it is important to tell your doctor about all of the prescriptions that you are taking so that he or she does not accidentally prescribe you something that could do you harm. If you are taking one of these weight loss pills but you are not satisfied with how it is working, talk to your doctor about switching to an alternative; don’t take an additional weight loss pill on top of the one that you are already taking.

Alternatives to Prescription Weight Loss Pills

Taking any prescription comes with the risk of side effects, so if you have tried Phentermine and/or Bontril and you are not happy with the way that these products make you feel, don’t lose hope.

If you don’t want to take a prescription weight loss pill that could cause unwanted side effects, there are several over-the-counter weight management products that you can purchase without a prescription. As with prescriptions, though, it is a great idea to talk to your doctor first before purchasing these products.

Whether you choose to take Bontril or Phentermine, or you decide to go with one of the many high quality over-the-counter weight management products out there, the key is to combine the use of these pills with a healthy diet and consistent exercise routine. Without diet and exercise, these pills will not be as effective as they can be.
